About The lessons
Each lesson is 50 minutes long and held over ZOOM.
Lessons are tailored to your level and goals. I’ve built a growing library of Weissenborn-specific picking exercises to help improve technique, timing, and tone - and I also have TABs available for many of my own songs. If you're interested in songwriting, we can dive into that too - exploring structure, voicings, and melodic ideas on the slide. I’ll also show you how to incorporate techniques like one-hand harmonics to open up new possibilities on the instrument. To keep practice fun and grounded in real music, I usually suggest working through a song - something you connect with that helps apply everything in context. It’s about developing your own voice, enjoying the process, and not just following a formula.

FAQ
Do I need a Weissenborn to Take Lessons?
No, but you will need at least a guitar! You will have to raise the nut to get a higher action suitable for lap slide playing. This is easy to do with a nut extender that goes on top of the existing nut on your guitar. Its a non-permanent attachment that can be eaily removed!
What Else Do I Need For the Lesson?
You'll need a computer or laptop with a webcam and a stable internet connection. Ideally, the webcam can be angled at your Weissenborn so I can see your hands. You’ll also need a tone bar - any slide will work at first, but I recommend the Dunlop 926 Lap Dawg or similar. Its got a good weight for great sustain and the lenght is perfect on the weissenborn.Fingerpicks are optional, but I use a reshaped Dunlop plastic thumbpick and two ProPik F-tones. I’m happy to show you how I modify the thumbpick if you're curious.
